Produce Safety Supervisor Training via Remote Delivery

Course Overview

This course is designed to help farm food safety supervisors learn more about the requirements of the FSMA Produce Safety Rule and how to use relevant resources to support their farm's compliance with the rule. 

At the end of this course, you will:

• Understand the basic requirements under FSMA that fall within your job responsibilities.
• Identify risks you encounter daily in your job better.
• Have a list of emergency response items tailored to the risks your employees encounter.
• Develop a skill-based training plan for your employees.

COURSE DETAILS:

This online course will be provided through Michigan State University's Desire To Learn (D2L) online learning portal. Although this course is self-paced, participation in the weekly discussions is encouraged. This course will require about 4 hours of your time and includes useful assignments that relate to your work on the farm. The course is comprised of nine modules that relate to regulations within the Produce Safety Rule.  

*Please note: This presentation is not and was not intended to be equivalent to§112.22 (c). Though these learnings supplement an individual’s understanding of food safety and the Produce Safety Rule, individuals that must meet §112.22 (c) are strongly encouraged to take either the Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training or equivalent.

Module 8. Compost and Manure

Week 3

Time to finish any remaining assignments. Certificates will be issued to those who complete all requirements of the course.

The cost for this program is $100.

Registration can be canceled up to two days before the course with no course cancellation fee. A cancellation fee of $10 will apply for registrations canceled within two days of the course start date.  

In the event that the course does not reach a minimum enrollment requirement, the course will be canceled, and participants will be notified. Participants will have the option to choose a different course date or receive a full refund for their course fee.
