Program Information

Come and join us in the 2024 Field Ornithology Course led by Lisa Duke and Josh Haas from Hawks on the Wing, and discover the fascinating world of birds! This year, we have arranged a variety of ways to participate, regardless of your location.

On Wednesday evenings, we will host lectures at the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary Auditorium and via Zoom. The first half of the night will consist of presentations by local experts on a range of topics such as migration, conservation, climate change, and more.

In the second half of the night, we will go on a birding hike on the Sanctuary grounds, where you can practice your bird identification skills using sight, sound, habitat, and behavioral clues. On the nights where there are no hikes, there will be an identification lecture instead.

On Saturday, we have organized field trips to nearby birding destinations. So, whether you're near or far, there's a way for you to join us and explore the world of birds!
