2026 MSU Hop Zoom Meeting Spring Kickoff
Michigan State University Extension will host an interactive Hop Kickoff Zoom meeting on April 9, 2026, 1 - 3:30 p.m. ET. Registration is free but required (See agenda below).

1 p.m. Welcome
1-1:15 p.m. Hop Integrated Pest Management, Erin Lizotte, MSU
1:15 -1:45 p.m. Hop Disease ID and Control, Dr. Tim Miles, MSU
1:45-2:15 p.m. Nematodes in Hop: Research Update and Control Options Muhammad Usman, MSU
2:15-2:45 p.m. MSU Weed ID and Control, Dr. Erin Hill, MSU
2:45-3:15 p.m. Nutrient uptake and accumulation in hop, Dr. Emily Verhoeven, Oregon State University
This kickoff will be followed by a biweekly Hop Chat Series that will begin in May 2026. These informal, twice a month sessions will include weather, crop, and pest updates from MSU Extension’s Rob Sirrine and Erin Lizotte. In addition, faculty and specialists will drop in to address timely issues and provide research project updates. The MSU Hop Chat Series will begin mid-May and run every other week through early August. While we encourage you to attend the live Zoom meetings, if you cannot make it, we will send out the recording to those that register.
