104 5th St., Evart, MI 49631

Join Michigan State University Extension for “conservation conversations” and a guided, behind-the-scenes walking tour of Evart's award-winning Twin Creek Nature Area. Arlene Anderson-Vincent, Senior Natural Resource Manager for Ice Mountain Brand Sparkling Water and Primo Foods will team up with Michael Ramsey, Public Engagement Coordinator for North Country CISMA to share the history of this site and how restoration and stewardship projects involving many local entities that came together to help protect water quality and preserve and enhance native habitats and ecosystems while always keeping biodiversity in mind.

In late July, the vibrant native prairies and cold-water streams are teeming with life - but they face constant threats from invasive species. On this casual walk, you will see exactly how we manage high-stakes ecological invaders and discover how local volunteers are actively restoring this ecosystem. If you have ever wanted to do more than just hike through nature, this walk will show you how to become an active protector of Michigan’s landscapes. The site is an easy walk, with a nature trail that loops back to the starting point on the 27-acre property.
