Earn ServSafe® certification with help from MSU Extension.

MSU Extension offers ServSafe® Manager Training and Certification Exam, which is a national certification program. This class is designed for anyone working in the food service industry, including non-profit organizations. Participants must receive a 70% score on the exam to earn certification.

Registration Information

The cost of the 8-hour course is $75 per person and does not include the cost of the 7th Edition Revised ServSafe® Manager book. (Revised 10/2023)

Textbook/Exam Answer Sheet Requirement - Must Purchase Separately

It is recommended to have a 7th Edition Revised ServSafe® Manager book (revised 10/2023) that contains an answer sheet to take the class and the exam. Please read your book before attending class. After registering, you will receive a confirmation message that contains options to purchase a 7th Edition Revised ServSafe® Manager book (revised 10/2023) with an answer sheet. If you are sharing the book or have already used the exam answer sheet that accompanies the book, a separate exam answer sheet is available for purchase. Please let us know before the class date if you will require one.
