Join us as we celebrate the Life of the River!

This fun-filled event is a great way to get the family out and learn about the amazing water resources in your own backyard! This year's event will take place on August 6th and 8th. The event will include educational activities around topics like orienteering, trail hiking, river ecology, water safety, kayaking/canoeing and more. Short walks, hands-on activities and wading in the water (knee deep or less) can be expected throughout the day. Specific location and agenda will be shared as the event draws closer. 


This event is for families with children. Educational events are tailored for children aged 7-12 but the whole family is welcome to participate! Parents/Guardian and siblings encouraged to attend. Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during all activities. This event is free to 4-H members and their families! And 4-H Registration is quick and easy and free, so if you are not a 4-H member you can sign up just to be a part of this event for free. 

Limited space for the day's event, so please only register if you plan to attend.

General Schedule:

2:45 p.m.: Activity 1
2:45-3 p.m.: Snack Break 
3-3:45 p.m.: Activity 2 
3:45-4p.m.: Wrap up 

Parents or guardians are responsible for providing transportation for drop off, pick up. 

All children participating between the ages of 5-19 must be registered 4-H members. Registration for 4H is free. 4-H registration is available online at https://mi.4honline.com/, or by visiting the your local county extension office. Any child must be registered as a 4-H member prior to the event.

Children participating in the Life of the River Event do not have to participate in any future 4-H events if they so choose.

Please note information will be emailed to you after registering with details on parking and meet up locations as well as more info on the days event.
