MI Birding 101 Spring 2024 Field Trips

Thank you for your interest in the Spring Birding 101 Field Trips!

These trips are designed for new and beginning birders as a follow up to our MI Birding 101 virtual learning sessions.

April 19 – 7 – 10 a.m. – Fenner Nature Center, 2020 E Mt Hope Ave., Lansing, MI 48910

May 1 – 7 – 10 a.m. -  LSSU CFRE, 100 Salmon Run Way, Sault Ste Marie, MI 49783
*May 2 – 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. -  Munuscong Potholes, 100 S Gray Rd., Pickford, MI 49774*
*May 23  – 8 – 11 a.m. - Tawas State Park, 686 Tawas Beach Rd., East Tawas, MI 48730 *
* These locations require a MI Recreation passport for entry.


A few things to note:

1)
Please ONLY Sign up for Field Trips You are 100% committed to attending. Space is limited to 15 per trip. Please do not prevent someone else from attending by registering and then not showing up the day of. Please email elliotne@msu.edu or text 906-322-0353 ASAP if you need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.

2) Binoculars are strongly recommended to attend these trips. We only have one pair of extras so please plan to bring your own or borrow a pair from a local library or friend. 

3) Expect trails to be gravel, dirt and occasionally paved. Expect .5-1.5 miles of walking. Some trips will require short travel in a vehicle (must provide your own vehicle).
