Do you like to hike, collect data, and watch the nesting cycle of birds? Then we have the best volunteer position for you! This training will teach you how to collect data for NestWatch, a Cornell Lab of Ornithology monitoring program designed to track status and trends in the reproductive biology of birds. The Sanctuary has 24 nest boxes on the property and there are 12 nest boxes on the Gull Lake Shoreline that are monitored by KBS volunteers! Bird species that we focus on are Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallow, House Wren, Black-capped Chickadee, and House Sparrows.
This event is free.
Registration for Nest Box Monitor Volunteer Training is open.
Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on April 1, 2025.
