Michigan Master Naturalist
The outdoor experiences will send you to a wide variety of locations including well known (or somewhat secretive) parks, native preserves and bogs throughout the local training area.
Be aware that some locations may have steep or rough terrain.
Sessions are slated to run one Saturday a month through three of Michigan's seasons of Spring - Fall
April 17- Geology, Weather & Climate; Bringing Nature Home
May 15 - Ornithology & Discovery Center live video Raptor tour
June 19 - Michigan Wetland Habitats & Amphibians
July 27 - Reptiles & Upland Habitats
August 21- Forests and Mammals of Michigan
September 18 - Spatial Ecology, Insects & Coasts
October 9 - Indigenous Peoples and Interpretive Skills

What to Expect

Trainees should wear plan to wear appropriate clothing such as closed toed shoes or hiking boots, hat, long pants, etc. during the suggested self-guided outdoor experiences.
(Exceptions will be made if the trainee becomes ill with COVID-19)
If a participant misses multiple sessions, then he or she may not become a certified Michigan Master Naturalist.
Cancellations received within 14 days of the first class will incur a $100 cancellation fee.
Cancellations received on week prior to the start of the first class will not be refunded.
Note: Registration will close when the class is full.
Maximum class size is 30 participants.
