Spring 2025 4-H Outdoor Education Workshop

Arrival/Check-in:
There are two options for check-in:
- Option 1: Arrive Friday evening (April 11) between 4:00pm and 8:00pm (Dinner is on your own Friday evening)
- Option 2: Arrive Saturday morning (April 12). Breakfast is served at 8:30am. Classes begin promptly at 10:00am.
Upon arriving, please park where indicated and head to the main camp building (larger building with red doors).
Who:
Adult 4-H volunteers, MSU Extension staff (with approval from their supervisor and Institute leadership), and any community partners or individuals interested in the opportunity.
What:
Join 4-H and Camp Newaygo staff for this exciting Professional Development Opportunity!April 12th and 13th at beautiful Camp Newaygo, participants can choose from two learning tracks- "Paddling with Youth Basics" focuses on paddling safety and leading groups of youth on the water, and "Project Learning Tree and More!" will cover DNR and 4-H Environmental and Outdoor Education curricula that can be used at 4-H camps, clubs, SPIN Clubs, and more! Project Learning Tree participants will receive certification as Project Learning Tree (PLT) facilitators and be introduced to additional 4-H curriculum. Participants in the "Project Learning Tree and More!" track will receive full curriculum guides for all curricula covered. While this workshop is provided by 4-H and a portion of it will cover 4-H policies and programming opportunities, it is open to anyone. To register, use the link below.
Cost:
$150.00 - includes lodging, meals, and materials.
Lodging includes dormitory style lodging. Meals included are Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday. Breakfast is served on Sunday with the workshop ending by noon.
Persons canceling without a replacement after April 4th and those who do not show up at the workshop will be billed the full registration fee.
