ANR Awards 2026

Nomination Deadline: Sept. 30, 2025

Do you know someone that deserves to be recognized? Complete one of the following processes to nominate deserving candidates. Awards will be distributed during the 2026 ANR Week.

CANRAA Award Nominations:

Alumni Service Award
The selection is made from candidates who have demonstrated continuing outstanding volunteer service to Michigan State University, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and/or meritorious public service on a local, state, national or international level. Candidates must possess the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Honorary Alumni Award
The selection will be made from candidates who have provided a distinctive contribution to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources on a state, national or international level; have relieved the suffering of disadvantaged people; or contributed to any unique program that benefits humankind.

Distinguished Faculty Award
The selection will be made from candidates who have brought distinction to the college through teaching, extension or research, and have provided leadership that has helped students, faculty or citizens to reach their potential for excellence.

Outstanding Alumni Award
The selection will be made from who have completed an Institute of Agricultural Technology program, bachelors, masters or doctorate program in Agriculture and Natural Resources at MSU. The selection will be made from who have completed an Institute of Agricultural Technology program or completed a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in the College Agriculture and Natural Resources at MSU.

Outstanding Up and Coming Alumni Award (formerly young alumni award)
The selection will be made from those who have completed their first degree within the last 15 years from the Institute of Agricultural Technology program or completed a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in the College Agriculture and Natural Resources at MSU. The selection is made from candidates who have distinguished themselves by obtaining a high level of professional accomplishment and who possess high standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alumni Award
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alumni Award is a newly-envisioned alumni award, created in 2019 in order to celebrate the rich diversity of the CANR alumni community. An alumni will be honored annually for their professional accomplishments and service contributions to CANR, their field, and/or to their community, in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Distinguished Service Award:
Each year, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources presents Distinguished Service Awards to those individuals or partners who have made outstanding contributions to Michigan’s agriculture and natural resources industries and who possess high standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. These individuals demonstrate a commitment to Michigan State University and the CANR by continuing outstanding volunteerism and leadership on behalf of or in conjunction with the university on a local, state, national or international level. As many as three of these prestigious awards are presented during ANR Week,

If submitting the form online please note that the following information and materials will be needed to complete the online application. The information can be completed on a word document or pdf form that you can simply upload into the system. Please ensure the packet you submit has a complete cover page. 

  • Why are you nominating this individual?

    • Share nominee’s accomplishments that best showcase why you are nominating this individual

      • Nominee’s professional accomplishments.

      • Special honors and recognition the nominee has received.

      • Nominee’s leadership and volunteer service activities.

      • Nominee’s contributions to the university

      • Nominee’s contributions locally, nationally and internationally

  • Letters of Recommendation (1 minimum - not more than 3)

  • Include additional comments that you feel will assist the committee in making its decision.

    • This can include a Grant Style C.V. or resume or bio sketch (1 page max)

  • Overall nomination packet should not exceed 8 pages including this cover page. Packets larger than 8 pages will only be reviewed through the 8th page.  Only the information within the 8 pages will be considered; links to additional information will not be reviewed.

Registration for CANRAA and DSA Award Nomination is open.

Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on September 30, 2025.
