The Comprehensive Planning Process: Updating & Implementing the Plan

About the Program

Michigan State University Extension presents a training program for locally appointed planning commissioners and elected officials, government staff and interested residents.

Why Attend?

Local officials have a responsibility to plan their communities, manage the impacts of economic and social change and play a part in solving challenges their communities face. Local communities that proactively maintain an updated comprehensive plan can accomplish their responsibilities and enhance the quality of life and overall resiliency of their own community.  This program empowers local officials and staff with the tools they need to understand the legal process for updating a comprehensive plan and identify strategies for implementing the plan over time.
