Explore spreadsheet-based farm accounting to efficiently manage your farm's finances and make informed decisions. Discover valuable insights into grants and cost share programs for farmers to maximize your resources and support your farming endeavors. Whether you're a seasoned farmer or just starting out, this series will offer practical knowledge to help you meet your goals.
This series is primarily offered for Genesee County farmers, but those across the state are welcome to register.
May 14: Designing the Right Succession Plan for Your Farm | Presenter: Corey Clark, MSU Extension Farm Business Management Educator
- Learn about a framework for succession planning to enable you to design the right plan for your farm.
May 21: Using Spreadsheets to Understand Farm Financial Wellbeing | Presenter: Florencia Colella, MSU Extension Farm Business Management Educator
- Use free tools such as Google sheets and Google forms to keep track of your farm finances. File taxes, apply for financing, track your financial wellbeing and make informed plans using that information.
May 28: Grants and Cost Share Programs for Farmers | Presenter: Kelly McClelland, MSU Extension Community Food Systems Educator, Guest: Ben Thelen, USDA NRCS
- Learn about support available for your farm business. Explore what funders are looking for in successful applications and how to pitch your ideas effectively.
