This camp is open to any youth between the ages of 8-10 (week 1) and 11-14 (week 2) as of Jan. 1, 2019.

Crawford and Roscommon counties are teaming up to offer this exciting 3-day summer day camp! Our days will be split into two parts with mornings spent learning outdoor survival skills like finding water, building shelter, and navigating the outdoors. Our afternoons will focus on learning all about bees, from their importance to our survival, and our importance to theirs. We will be doing a variety of fun, hands-on learning activities ranging from building a compass to making a beehive and lots in-between!

The deadline to register is July 15, 2019. Space is limited to 40 participants each week.

Camp will be held at the Rotary pavilion at Hanson Hills. Because we will be spending all our time outdoors, participants will need to bring their own sunscreen and bug spray. Water bottles are required. Lunch will be provided to all campers!

Due to generous donations by Crawford Partnership for Substance Abuse Prevention, and our community partners Gahagan Nature Preserve, Hanson Hills, and Family Fare this camp is being offered to youth at no additional cost ($50 value) beyond the annual 4-H participation fee of $20. As always, scholarships for the fee may be requested at your county's MSU Extension office.

We will also be offering transportation to the camp, if needed. Crawford County participants can be picked up and dropped off at their homes. Roscommon County participants will have a designated pick up and drop off spot to which families will be required to transport their camper(s). Families may also opt to drop off and pick up their camper right at Hanson Hills.
