It is important for Tribal executive and legislative leaders to develop and maintain consistent decision-making skills while understanding the ethical considerations of their work. This 90-minute fully interactive webinar will provide a comfortable setting for participants to hear about critical best practices and to share their own experiences. The Building Strong Sovereign Nations program continues into its 20th year by hosting monthly interactive webinars, taught by and attended by Anishinabek leaders.  Migwe'ch to every past and present member of the BSSN teaching team for bringing important content to leaders across the Three Fires. Thank you also to members of the MI Tribal Planners Network for shaping BSSN into this new format for the new year. 

Attendees of this session will:

  • Achieve a deeper understanding of Anishinaabek leadership and decision-making frameworks
  • Apply ethical understanding to challenges in decision-making   
  • Gain skills to create consensus-based solutions
  • Learn about active and generous listening skills to recognize interests behind strongly held positions   
  • Receive resources related to decision-making frameworks, leadership skills and ethics
