This 1.5-hour program is for farmers and landowners that would like to learn more about land leasing. Within the last 5-10 years, leasing land for solar energy development has increased. This program will cover basic elements found in most leases and focus on solar leasing. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Anyone with interest can attend.

Paul Gross, MSU Extension (retired) will cover comment elements in land lease agreements and will focus in on key landowner considerations for solar leases. Participants will learn key “lessons” from nearby Isabella County where Mr. Gross was instrumental in helping landowners negotiate renewable energy lease terms as a group.

Attorney Trent Hilding (Montcalm County) will discuss legal considerations for solar land leasing. Mr. Hilding is a farmer and specializes in agricultural law, business law, and estate planning.

Cost: $15.00
