    GLLA presents Lunch and Leadership via Zoom:
Special Guest: Karen Slaughter-DuPerry, Senior Manager, GM - Global Real Estate
Projects and Community Outreach Executive - Detroit Riverfront Conservancy 

This November, Lunch and Leadership features Karen Slaughter-DuPerry, senior manager for General Motor’s – Global Real Estate Group – serving as an executive on loan to the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy (DRFC). DuPerry joined GM in 1983 as an architectural designer in the Design Department for Argonaut AEC and later served the Economic Development Department, where she negotiated multi-million dollar dispositions for surplus properties and developed re-use strategies. She also led the Strategic Planning group that determined facility utilization, consolidation and compression investigation studies. 

For DRFC, she works in the areas of project management and community outreach. She is currently leading the team working on the creation of a new 22-acre park in SW Detroit – to open in 2023. She is a Detroit native and a graduate of the Detroit Public School system, she holds a Bachelors and Masters in Architecture from the University of Michigan.
