ESP cordially invites you to tour the Jim Crow Museum of Racial Memorabilia, 1010 Campus Drive, Big Rapids, MI, Nov. 22, 2019. Please consider joining us for this professional development program offered by ESP. Jim Crow laws were a collection of state and local statutes that legalized racial segregation. Named after an insulting song lyric regarding African Americans, the laws—which existed for about 100 years, from the post-Civil War era until 1968. This tour would be part of your professional development for civil rights education.

We will meet at 11 a.m. in the private dining room at the Rock Café for lunch and a brief ESP meeting. Following lunch, we will visit the Jim Crow Museum for a tour and conversation about the museum.

Free parking passes can be printed at https://wwws.ferris.edu/dps/guestpermit/. When you print this pass, fill in required information and click business for the correct FREE parking pass. This pass will allow you to park in any lot. It does NOT permit you to park at meters.

You will need to purchase lunch at the Rock Café. Lunch is $10.75 payable at the door.

After lunch we will walk to the museum for a guided introduction and tour. There is no cost for the museum. You will have time to explore the museum on your own. At 3:30 p.m. we will provide an opportunity to talk about the museum and its importance with faculty from the CANR Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
