Promoting Soil, Water and Nutrient Management in Agriculture

Event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Field demonstrations will run continuously with a short break for lunch on both days:

  • Subsurface drainage installation with tile plow
  • Installation of water control structures
  • Demonstration of drainage water recycling

At 8:45 a.m.: Welcome and Introduction

At 9 a.m.: Walk towards Tent 1

Talk Sessions (CCA Credits for Soil and Water Management)
Tent 1 starts from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. by Dr. Sieglinde Snapp: Soil health, and its impact on crop yield and water quality
Tent 1 starts from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. by Dr. Kurt Steinke: Nutrient management, and it's impact on crop and water quality
Tent 2 starts from 10:20 to 10:50 a.m. by Dr. Dean Baas: Cover crops, and its impact on soil, crop yield and water quality
Tent 2 starts from 10:50 to 11:20 a.m. by Dr. Larry Brown: Conventional drainage, and its impact on water quality and crop yield
Tent 3 starts from 11:35 to 12:05 p.m. by Dr. Larry Brown: Drainage water recycling

 
Catered lunch starts from 12:00 p.m. for registered participants.

Tent 3 starts from 9:50 to 10:20 a.m. by Dr. Jane Frankenberger: Drainage water recycling, and its impact on water quality and crop yield
Tent 4 starts from 10:35 to 11:05 a.m. by Dr. Ehsan Ghane: Controlled Drainage, and its impact on water quality and crop yield
Tent 5 starts from 11:20 to 11:50 a.m. by Dr. Ehsan Ghane: Water-Gate valve and live-action demonstration of how it manages drainage water
Tent 2 starts from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. by Dr. Dean Baas: Cover crops, and its impact on soil, crop yield and water quality
 
Catered lunch at 12:00 p.m. for registered participants.
