BSSN: Introduction to Facilitation

The facilitator is a non-biased process leader who empowers a group to develop their own strategies over time. A goal of the facilitator is to assist each group member build the facilitation and leadership skills necessary to keep their organization and/or community moving forward.
This 2.5-hour class provides an overview of Participatory Values, Fundamentals of Facilitation, Challenges, and Heat Skills. It is for both new and experienced tribal leaders, managers, facilitators, undergraduate and graduate students who would like start their facilitation journey or need a refresher.
The cost of this introductory class is free.
What is the purpose?:
- To help participants start thinking about what the main tasks are of a facilitator
- To help participants understand the stages of facilitation
- To introduce participants to different tools and techniques
