Pantry Food Safety - It's Your Job!

Pantry Food Safety - It's Your Job! is a food safety training for staff and volunteers who handle food donations at food pantries, food banks, and other charitable food distribution sites. Attendees will learn how to handle food safely to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses.

The training identifies the food safety risks that are present and how to lower these risks. Participants will gain knowledge in:

  1. Personal hygiene and handwashing
  2. Cleaning and sanitizing
  3. Receiving and storing food 
  4. Repackaging 
  5. Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act

Participants who attend this training will receive a certificate of participation.

The training is designed to take 2.5 hours. This training can be viewed individually or in a group from a laptop, tablet, smartphone, or any device with internet access. While there is no cost for this training, registration is required.
