Preparing for Holiday Stress Using Mindfulness

This program is a collaboration between Michigan State University Extension and University of Michigan Medical and offers an opportunity for participants to set themselves up for success in dealing with the hectic holidays. Yes, holidays are wonderful and yet they can be times of stress. We want you to think about taking a moment before all the frenzy of shopping, family gatherings and crazy expectations. Clear your mind and learn to be in the moment. Learning ways to stay in the present. As you learn to enjoy each moment, you stay healthier and have better relationships with yourself and those around you. This program teaches a wide variety of strategies and from that you can choose those that fit to help you reduce your stress. Preparing for Holiday Stress Using Mindfulness 2024 starts Tuesday, November 12th and continues each Tuesday through December 10th. Each session is one relaxing hour and starts at 10:30 a.m. CT/11:30a.m. ET.

Join us for five sessions of trying a wide variety of strategies in mindfulness, leading to stress reduction and healthier living during these crazy holiday times:

  • Begin with the breath
  • Mindful eating
  • Mindful walking and thought surfing
  • Be kind to your mind
  • Laughter is good medicine
