Fire Blight Webinar Series

The team that is leading the national fire blight grant “Comprehensive Fire Blight Management for the United States” is hosting a webinar series that will begin in Spring 2024 and wrap up at the end of the year. This series will address new research on best management practices for fire blight control.

The following is the upcoming fire blight webinar series tentative agenda:

April 4, 2024 - Current resistance status of antibiotics for fire blight management

April 18, 2024 - Fire Blight Moves Fast in the Plant. Prune Fast to Stay Ahead.

Katherine Olive, Michigan State University

New research shows fire blight can move 2 in a day in shoots. Learn the details and how to manage to prevent tree death.

 

Nov 6, 2024 - Plant Defense Products Actigard and Kudos/Apogee

In a recent project plant defense elicitors were tested to prevent shoot blight in the month past petal fall. Learn about results from MI, NY, WA, and NC.
