Michigan 4-H/FFA Livestock Judging Contest 2025

In the livestock judging state contest, participants can demonstrate their livestock evaluation and selection skills, as well as improve their communication and decision-making skills. This contest will include both individual and team competition.

Divisions:

  • 4-H Juniors
    • Ages 8-13 as of January 1
  • 4-H Seniors
    • Ages 14-19 as of January 1
  • FFA Junior High
    • Recently completed 7th or 8th grade
  • FFA High School
    • Recently completed grades 9-12
  • MLE
    • Ages 8-21 as of January 1 and not a member of 4-H or FFA 
  • Cloverbuds
    • Age 7 as of January 1, non-competitive


COST: $10 per contestant
**This fee allows contestants to compete in both the 4-H and FFA division if eligible.
Cloverbuds can participate free of charge.
Cancellations on or after June 13 will not be refunded.

Registrations with incorrect or incomplete information will not be accepted. 
Entries must be submitted by June 12, 2025. Every individual that will be judging must have a complete registration.
No late or same-day entries will be accepted.

Note: the date of this contest is no longer in conjunction with Michigan Livestock Expo (MLE), but participation in the contest will still count as an educational experience for the Premier Stockman Award.
