MSU FIC will host a Forestry/Wildlife Food Plot Field Day options for the DIY Landowner in the UP.
This event will showcase:
- using skid trails to your advantage.
- tree planting options following a timber harvest (tree selection, planting, protection from deer, chemical control of weeds, realistic expectations.
- bear baiting 101 - the rules, regs, and tips & tricks for success.
- throw and grow plots to avoid the stumps of a recent harvest.
- planning and implementing salvage harvests of dead/dying ash trees to enhance wildlife food plot options.
- small scale equipment demos.
- introductory trapping demo.
Lunch will be provided by “The Boppin Betty Food Truck” to those who preregister!
