Ogemaw County Extension Office
205 S 8th St., West Branch, MI 48661

Farm succession planning can feel complicated, emotional, and overwhelming. Many families know they need a plan but aren’t sure where to start or how to move forward. This one-day seminar is designed to provide clarity and structure to the succession planning process. We’ll walk through:

  • An overview of the succession planning process
  • Common transfer tools including entities, trusts, and wills
  • Approaches to fairness in family farm transitions
  • Key decisions to address before drafting documents
  • Legal and long-term care considerations

This program is presented by farm business management educators from MSU Extension and attorneys who regularly work with farm families on succession and estate planning. You’ll leave with practical tools and a clearer sense of your next steps.

Registration for Getting Your Succession Plan on Track is open.

Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 29, 2026.
